Since 2017 I have served as the pastor of Antwerp International Protestant Church. For over ten years before this I I was involved in planting and pastoring two small, multiethnic church plants, founding and running a thrift store, and leading community development efforts in Central California. As a missionary pastor, I get a front row seat to watch the grace of God at work in people’s lives. As a theologian, I reflect on God, his world, and his ways. The theme of Exploration & Contemplation gives me a large enough bucket to capture some of the things that are of greatest interest to me: the gospel, church, and mission. And adventure – the blog was launched so people could follow us on our sabbatical travels in the summer of 2016. The blog later turned into a place to share about my son Peter’s cancer, then a place to share about grief, and once again a place to share some thoughts as a missionary-pastor-scholar.
