Peter got one dose of radiation on Friday. He will get another each day Monday to Friday. The swelling is less and he is feeling better. He should be out of the ICU and back on the oncology unit in a couple days.
Yesterday and today we have had friends visiting. They drove down from Washington to be with us and take a vacation during their spring break. Peter has been having fun with them. He reminded me today that when we stayed with them for a night last summer his friend set the alarm for 5:00am so they could get up early enough to play Minecraft together before we hit the road.
This morning Peter was his usual silly self. It’s hard to be sad when he feels so good.
I would say today’s pig is less puffy and more perky than yesterday’s.

This evening a family that used to lead worship for our church in Delhi, CA came to visit. Thirteen people in an intensive care room is technically not supposed to happen, but we got away with it. We played a couple ridiculously long rounds of the game Things. They led worship for us in the hospital room. I’ll just say what I feel about these visits: it’s good to be loved.
Tomorrow while the younger kids are at the school room in the hospital we will begin serious Bible study and discussion about heaven, the resurrection, and the kingdom of God. Reading C.S. Lewis’s Last Battle helps jump start our ability to imagine the kingdom.

Minecraft looks like digital legos to me, so Peter has never played with me. We have been playing an unusual cooperative game called Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. Up to three of us at a time work together to blast space creatures and rescue bunnies in outerspace. Your name in the comments shows up as “Someone,” so I’m not sure who the Minecraft fan is.

So glad you are feeling better Peter! We are here in Virginia with our son and daughter in law and last night we had a campfire with some friends of theirs and we prayed for you and your family around the fire under the stars. I bet you would have liked the s’mores.

Hi, Peter! I hope you love reading The Last Battle as much as I did. The Narnia Chronicles helped me think about God in my life in really helpful ways. (I also really enjoyed The Horse and His Boy. In fact, I just picked up another copy at a garage sale. Maybe you’ve read that one, too)

I read the Narnia books to Peter and his older brother several years ago. I’m now going through them again with the younger two, which got Peter interested so he just read through them all again on his own.
Zeke I am so pleased to share the info and pictures with Harmony staff. We all were so sad to hear of Peter’s latest set back. These pics will bring a smile to us and a praise Jesus it looks like prayers are being answered. Many of us include you all in our prayers. We will keep up prayers for you all. Give Peter a big hug and tell him he makes a really cute piggy.
Hi Peter ~ I’ve never met you, but my boys went to school with your dad! My boys are dads now, too. My husband, Greg and I also went to your mom and dad’s wedding. The most special people we know the best are your grandpa and grandma – Sheri and Jim to us. Your dad is a great writer, and we’ve been getting to know about you and your family through his blog. I think “blog” is a funny word for writing . . . too much like “Blah.” I haven’t read all of the Narnia books, so I feel challenged to read the one you’re reading now. Greg and I are praying every day for you and your family and the doctors that know how to treat you. The Bible says that God will give wisdom to people . . . the kind of wisdom that won’t be found in books – but through the Holy Spirit.
